Business Impact

Sustained App Store Reputation

By catching functional regressions before they hit production, we help maintain the platform’s 4-star rating and positive user sentiment across 60,000+ reviews.

Revenue Protection

Our zero-tolerance approach to IAP testing ensures that the platform’s primary revenue stream is never interrupted by functional glitches.

Launch Confidence

The client can release new builds and features frequently, knowing that our regression testing has “hardened” the application against unexpected breakages.

Operational Stability

We ensure the platform remains “smooth in production,” allowing the client’s internal team to focus on development while we handle the heavy lifting of quality verification.

MMORPG Game Testing

Overview

About the client

The client is a top-tier global game development studio under one of Asia’s largest technology conglomerates. The project involved an ambitious AAA Open-World Survival (SOC) title built on Unreal Engine 4, designed for a simultaneous global launch across PC, iOS, and Android.

Game Intro

AAA open-world survival RPG (often categorized as SOC-Survival, Open World, Crafting). Launched globally in June 2023, it was designed as a cross-platform experience for PC, iOS, and Android, pushing the boundaries of what mobile hardware could handle using Unreal Engine 4.

Challenges

The transition from a regional development build to a global release presented four critical operational bottlenecks:

Proprietary Tooling & Language Barriers

Internal development tools were entirely in the developer’s native language, hindering environment setup and test data management.

Extreme Hardware Fragmentation

The game required seamless performance across a massive spectrum of hardware-from high-end PCs to budget smartphones-while ensuring 100% data synchronization.

Linguistic & UI Complexity (LQA)

Launching in multiple languages (EFIGS, CJK, etc.) created massive risks for UI clipping, contextual mistranslation, and cultural insensitivity within the sprawling game narrative.

Massive Content Scope vs. Market Timing

With a huge open world and a strict global launch window, the functional and linguistic test surface was enormous.

Our Solution

We implemented an Integrated Functional & Localization QA Strategy

  • Context-Aware LQA Audits
  • UI/UX Overflow Testing
  • Risk-Based Testing (RBT)
