Challenge 1: Complex Feature Interaction Logic
The Problem:
The game features three unique “Special Wild” characters that can appear and interact at the exact same time. Because each character triggers different multipliers and behaviors, it was highly critical to make sure these symbols did not cause math errors or game crashes (“logic collisions”) when they showed up together.
Our Solution:
We mapped out an Interaction Logic Matrix to document every possible combination of the three special characters appearing on the reels at once.
We used special backend test tools to force specific reel results. This allowed us to instantly test these rare character combinations over and over, verifying that the multipliers calculated perfectly every single time.
Challenge 2: Regulatory Risks with the “Buy Feature”
The Problem:
The game has a “Buy Free Spins” mechanic, which is under strict monitoring by gambling regulators. Any mistake in the cost-to-payout ratio (how much it costs to buy vs. how much it pays out) could cause immediate loss of the gaming license or massive financial damage.
Our Solution:
We ran High-Volume Simulation Testing (Parallel Automation Testing) to execute millions of spins through the “Buy Feature” system.
We checked the resulting payout data against the client’s target mathematical model to ensure the theoretical Return to Player (RTP) matched the actual gameplay exactly, ensuring 100% regulatory compliance.
Challenge 3: Performance & Animation Stability on Mobile Browsers
The Problem:
The game uses heavy steampunk animations and special particle effects. The big challenge was keeping the game running smoothly (maintaining a high frame rate) across many different mobile web browsers and older, cheap smartphones without lagging or overheating.
Our Solution:
We set up a Cross-Browser Testing Matrix, testing the game across popular mobile browsers (Safari, Chrome, Samsung Internet, Android Webview) on various low-end devices.
We monitored memory usage, battery consumption, and frame rates during long-session tests. When we found drops in performance, we worked with the developers to optimize asset loading and web-rendering sizes.
